Play Therapy

Language can be tricky for kids, especially when they are having struggles at home or at school. That is why I use play as a way to help them express their feelings.  I am a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and use Play Therapy with the children that I see in my office. Most children who come to see me view it as a playroom not an office! The room is full of purposefully selected toys that children use in the way they need. My preferred method of counseling children is Child-Centered Play Therapy. This counseling approach is based on the belief that children have the internal drive to achieve wellness. If we give them the tools, guide them in the right direction, and provide them with the love and support they crave, children can overcome anything!

The #1 Reason Play Therapy Works!

Language is tricky for kids. This is the #1 reason why Play Therapy works! Meet Andrew. He will explain to you better than anyone else why language is tricky for kids and play therapy helps them express themselves!

(Thanks to the Association of Play Therapy for introducing us to Andrew.)
